The bright, yellow sun was burning ever so prominently in the blazing spring sky. Blinding heat swept through the mid afternoon terrain, accompanied by a gentle, somber wind, its existence being too faint to detect. Thin, translucent clouds laced the sky, masking the earth in temporary bursts from the scorching rays.
